PROF FARAUTA LED SPECIAL INAUGURATION THANKSGIVING!

In a spirit of gratitude and devotion, the Deputy Governor-Elect of Adamawa State, Prof Kaletapwa G Farauta, led a special interdenominational thanksgiving service on Sunday, ahead of the May 29 Inauguration ceremony. The service, held at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Yola, was an occasion for the newly elected deputy governor to dedicate their victory to God and express their commitment to magnify God in all aspects of their work.

During her address, Prof Farauta expressed her heartfelt appreciation to the church leaders, particularly the Adamawa State Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), for their fervent prayers throughout the electoral process. She acknowledged the importance of spiritual guidance and support, emphasizing that she and Governor Rt Hon Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri are relying on the prayers of the people to lead the state in the right direction.

Furthermore, Prof Farauta conveyed Governor Fintiri’s request for continued prayers and guidance, urging the congregation never to let them stray from the path of righteousness. She recognized the vital role the church plays in upholding moral values and fostering unity among the people.

The Catholic Bishop of Yola Diocese and the CAN Chairman Adamawa State, Most Rev Dr Dami Mamza, delivered a welcoming address, highlighting the significance of the pre-inauguration service. As it coincided with Pentecost Sunday, Bishop Dami explained that the service aimed to seek divine blessings and intercession for the incoming government. He commended Prof Farauta for her exemplary leadership as the Vice Chancellor of Adamawa State University Mubi and encouraged her to continue her remarkable work as the deputy governor of Adamawa State.

In his sermon titled “Becoming Christ’s Witnesses,” Bishop Dami emphasized the responsibility of Christians to live lives that reflect the teachings and values of Jesus Christ. He called upon all believers to exemplify Christ’s love, compassion, and integrity in their daily lives, serving as ambassadors of goodwill and agents of positive change in society.

The pre-inauguration service included special prayers for the incoming government of Adamawa State, seeking divine guidance, wisdom, and blessings for the leaders who would assume office. The congregation also lifted their voices in songs of thanksgiving and praise, acknowledging God’s faithfulness and grace.

The thanksgiving service was graced by the presence of notable individuals, including Prof Maxwell Gidado, the Chief of Staff at the Government House in Yola, the Deputy Speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly, members of the Adamawa State Executive Council, national and state assembly members, party leaders, and people from across Adamawa State.

As the dawn of a new administration approached, the pre-inauguration service served as a reminder of the importance of faith, unity, and gratitude in the pursuit of good governance. With their victory dedicated to God, the Deputy Governor-Elect and her team embarked on their new roles with a shared commitment to serve the people of Adamawa State diligently and to honor God in every aspect of their work.
